The plant that settled an argument
In the early 1890s, American cities were fighting over how electricity should travel. Thomas Edison’s direct current worked, but it lost power fast over distance and needed a generating station every mile or so. That is a defensible choice commercially. It is also a loss, because the actual story is more interesting than most of what gets top billing on the Canadian side.
