Things to do in Buffalo
Buffalo sits 34 kilometres from the American side of the falls, about 30 minutes by car, and its airport (BUF) is often the cheapest way to reach either side of the border. The Buffalo AKG Art Museum anchors a downtown that also holds two Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, the Darwin D. Martin House and Graycliff, plus an art deco city hall with a free observation deck.
Canalside covers the historic waterfront with the Buffalo Naval Park's retired warships and the Buffalo Museum of Science nearby. The Buffalo Bills play at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, a separate suburb, not downtown. Prices below are in USD.
Crossing from Canada means a passport check at the Rainbow Bridge or Peace Bridge, with wait times that can run from ten minutes to over an hour, so build that into a day trip.
