Things to do: Maid of the Mist
Maid of the Mist has carried sightseers to the base of the falls since 1846, making it one of North America's oldest tourist attractions. Since 2020 two fully electric boats, the James V. 5 metres long and carrying up to 600 passengers, recharging to 80% in about seven minutes while the next group boards - the first electric vessels of their kind in the United States.
Riders get a blue poncho, distinct from the red ponchos worn on the Canadian-side Niagara City Cruises boat, so photos from the two companies are easy to tell apart. The boat runs a full season roughly from April to November and closes for winter; check current dates before planning a trip outside summer.
