Things to do at Cave of the Winds

Cave of the Winds is a paid attraction on Goat Island: an elevator drops into the gorge, then wooden boardwalks lead to the Hurricane Deck, just metres from the base of Bridal Veil Falls, where the spray soaks visitors on purpose. Tickets run roughly 21 to 24 USD for adults in season, which typically runs from May to October.

Ponchos and rubber sandals are provided or available to rent, but expect personal shoes to end the visit wet through. The boardwalks are dismantled every autumn and rebuilt each spring, so the full Hurricane Deck experience is not a year-round option. In winter, only the upper platform stays open, rebranded as the Ice Experience, with no access down to the deck itself.

This is a different kind of encounter with the falls than the Maid of the Mist: standing close at water level rather than viewing from a boat below.
